HANA Certification

Based on feedback from the industry to get HANA-enabled products to market quickly, HANA members are working together to develop a hardware and software reference design for the HANA Entertainment system. Products based on the reference design will let consumers download HD content from any broadband connection or HD cable set-top box and watch it in any room in their home with a coax jack and a remote control. Key to the HANA solution is a broadcast encryption solution that ensures the content will be secure from illegal redistribution and copying of the content while allowing the content to be shared within the home. The reference design will allow equipment manufacturers to rapidly deploy these HANA-enabled products with a minimum of development effort. Following completion of the reference design, HANA will address developing a certification program for HANA products to guarantee interoperability.
